Mad cow disease seems to have affected ACCA officials. The lying and cheating has sunk to new depths.

Not content with the previous dirty tricks to ensure that Sikka is not elected to Council, the officials have invented new tricks.

A statements issued by ACCA Council (or more likley drafted by the officials) states that

"Candidates in the Council elections were made aware of, and asked to indicate their acceptance of, the Code of Practice for   Council members introduced in 1995 and set out at pages 16 -  20. All candidates in the 1999 elections, with the exception of Prem Sikka, have indicated their acceptance of the Code".

The offocials are obviously trying tor ig the elections. Hare are the facts.

• Sikka have never said that he does not accept the Code. If the lying ACCA officials have any evidence they should publish it.
• Sikka has asked ACCA officials to clarify the meaning of the words, such as 'the public interest, 'ethics', 'integrity' etc. in the Code. The officials have offered no clarification.
• ACCA mmebers were not consulted in the drafting of the Code. They have not been asked to vote on it either. an internal elite drew it up to silence debate.
• Sikka asked for an indication of the Council's moral mandate for drafting the Code which in Stalinist trequires that individual Council mmebers

                      explain and support the policies formally adopted by
                        Council even where these may differ from their
                        individual views

                     refrain from making public pronouncements which are
                        at variance with Council's formal position even where
                        that position may differ from their individual views
