ACCA FACING A CALL FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
(The Times, 27 May 1999)

PREM SIKKA, the perennial rebel at the
 Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants, is most definitely not welcome in
the ACCA council chamber. The ACCA
executive even issued a press release after its
recent annual meeting emphasising that he had
failed in his election attempt yet again. But they
are less vindictive down at the English ICA.
Indeed, they have taken to inviting the lad
 round.

Last week, Sikka could be found expounding
his views from the seats of the English council
chamber at the first annual meeting of the
Fraud Advisory Panel. And he received a very
interested and sympathetic hearing. No wonder
the ACCA council is facing the prospect of a
vote of no confidence at an extraordinary
 meeting called by stalwart past-council
 veterans.
