ACCA OFFICIALS KEEP MEMBERS IN THE DARK
ACCA offocials have hit on nice trick for keeping members in the dark. Firstly, they don't allow debates on any anything. The official magazine is censored. Secondly, the hoist resolutions on members without any notice or debate. At the AGM, the President invents bye-laws and claims that he will only allow each member to speak for only three minutes. there is no bye-law to allow him to do so. But that does not deter the Stalinist regime.
during the 1998 AGM, the leadership, in the name of saving costs, hoisted a resolution for sending summary accounts to members. Have they saved money? No. The senior executives have been taking barrow loads of money. Instead, they have used the resolution to keep members in the dark. Ordinary members have not been told that the chief executive got 21% and the top brass has walked off with a double-digit increadse, or that students are being ripped-off, or that ACCA members will pay 28% of the new UK regulatory costs, or that ACCA is being sued for violation of human rights in the European Court of Human Rights. And the same leadership dares to preach 'ethics' and 'accountability' to others!!
ALL ACCA MEMBERS SHOULD HAVE A RIGHT TO RECEIVE FULL ACCOUNTS UNLESS THEY AGREE OTHERWISE. THE LEADERSHIP IS OPERATING ON THE PREMISE THAT THE MEMBERS HAVE A RIGHT TO RECEIVE 'SUMMARY' ACCOUNTS UNLESS THEY SEPND THEIR VALUABLE TIME AND MONEY TO ASK FOR FULL ACCOUNTS.
