ACCA Deputy-President, Moyra Kedslie, has taken early 'retirement' from Hull University where she has been employed as a senior lecturer. It is understood that Ms Kedslie's departure would be finalised by the end of September 1999. Previously, Ms Kedslie had been the subject of a critical internal report (see our news item on 18 May 1999). Despite the UK media's coverage, ACCA's official magazine (always censored) has made no attempt to inform members. Are members not entitled to know the background of officeholders?

One consequence of Ms Kedslie's 'retirement' is that ACCA Deputy-President and Vice-President (George Auger) are both retired. In time, both will become Presidents and ACCA will be led by individuals without full-time jobs. Is this desirable?
