NO LIBRARY FOR ACCA MEMBERS

Have you noticed how the ACCA leadership crows about its latest business venture. It says little about services to members.

Any professional body worth anything has a good professional library. This enables members to access technical and research material and hopefully deliver good services for their clients and employers. But ACCA does not have a library.

Despite an annual operating budget of £35 million, ACCA has failed to provide a library for its members. Comparable UK accountancy bodies, such as the ICAEW, have a world class library. But the ACCA has nothing. The ACCA chief executive earns £161,000 per annum but has not managed to think of a library for members and students. Members could show their displeasure but they have no say in the appointment or remuneration of the chief executive. So the ACCA remains a laughing stock of the professional world.
