ACCA to announce new chief executive

After over two years of dithering and indecision, the ACCA's controllers have finally found a replacement for its current chief executive, Anthea Rose.  'Insiders' have told AABA that the council will be informed of the new person during its meeting on 17 April 2003.

Despite taking early retirement Rose would continue as a 'consultant' for a substantial salary. This means that the new person will not have the opportunity to shape ACCA policies. An earlier candidate for the job withdrew for this very reason.

According to the latest ACCA annual accounts, she can retire at an annual pension of  £136,000, considerably more than the earnings of most working ACCA members. Rose is not an ACCA member and does  not have any professional professional qualifications.
