ACCA MEMBERS URGED TO OPPOSE SUBSCRIPTION
INCREASE WITHOUT PRIOR MEMBERSHIP APPROVAL
ACCA fat cats have got used to picking members' pockets every
year by pushing through subscription increase. Money is raised without
any explanation of the possible usage. Any company raising additional
finance from its members has to explain the purpose of such an
exercise, but ACCA leadership does not such thing. If members oppose
increase the unelected leadership casts thousands of votes to push
through the changes to ensure that their gravy train keeps
running.
Last year, members had enough. They nearly defeated the leadership on
subscriptions. Did this result in any transparency or accountability?
No it did not. Instead, the fat cats have dreamt up a new scheme. They
now want to push through subscription increase without membership
approval. That is the proposal under Resolution
4. It gives the unelected leadership the power to push through
increase of up to 5% without any discussion or approval from members.
Yes, they have found a new way to pick members' pockets.
As always, the leadership is relying on two things to its way.
1. Apathy
2. Officeholders casting thousands to votes.
Members are urged to reject Resolution
4 and not to give any delegated vote to anyone.
