ACCA claims to be a 'global' accountancy body. But is it? It has little influence in the UK.

In the USA, the SEC has been holding public hearing on 'auditor independence'. The ICAEW President has given written and oral evidence. No one from ACCA has been seen or heard from.

Perhaps, the leadership is too busy taking their spouses and friends on global travels. Perhaps, the management is too busy devising schemes to give themselves higher salaries and plans for silencing reforming voices. But the 'truth' is that ACCA is no where to be seen. Perhaps, the ACCA management is being realistic. As it has no influence anywhere it has decided to do nothing.
