ACCA leadership's propaganda of being a major 'global' accountancy body received a blow today. The UK is to be represented on the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) by the ICAEW Deputy-President, Graham Ward.
In reality, ACCA is an accountancy body of little islands and former UK colonies. It has little influence in the UK, as exemplified by the raising of the small company audit thresholds in the UK from a turnover of £350,000 to £1 million and later to £4.8 million. ACCA campaigned heavily to oppose such policies.
