THE OXFORD-BROOKES BLUES (18 April 2000)

It is now official. The ACCA has finally confirmed that its qualifications are of a sub degree standard. As previously, explained by AABA, ACCA has been forced to acknowledge that from June 2000 (nothing for the earlier students),  students completing its module E exams will be eligible to receive a first degree from the Oxford Brookes University (hardly a top class university). To do so, they will have to write a 5,000 word research dissertation.

With this deal, the ACCA management is telling the world that ACCA qualifications are sub-degree standard. ACCA has been unable to secure recognition for its qualifications in Canada and the USA because the accountancy bodies there feel that ACCA qualifications are sub-degree standard. Now the ACCA management has confirmed this.
